Lowriders - What’s The Attraction?

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

The lowrider bike craze sweeping the urban United States is energizing the creative impulses of young adults, as they express their personalities on comfortable bikes.

I was just a little kid in the late 1960s, when the TV show The Munsters was on the air in Prime Time TV, young enough to feel that Eddie Munster (the werewolf son) was my favorite character on the show. I don’t remember him riding the converted Schwinn Stingray which was apparently the first lowrider bike featured on TV, and which started the craze for the lowriders during the late 60s and 70s.

I do remember that I wanted to sleep in a bureau drawer as he did - I felt that would be nice and snug!

What I most remember about the show, in the technology department, was the car they drove - the converted hearse. Now that was a car!

Anyway, that’s just a bit of historical interest. Most kids today have never even heard of the Munsters - or if they have it’s the remake done in the 1980s which had none of the charm of the original - give me Fred Gwynne, Yvonne DeCarlo and Al Lewis any day of the week!

It wasn’t a TV show that brought the lowrider back into favor in the late 1980s, however, but merely the concerted creativity of people in the Chicano neighborhoods of Los Angeles, who began exercising their creativity by tricking out their bikes with chrome, paint, and all sorts of accessories. The hobby caught on and has spread through urban areas throughout the United States.

Lowrider bikes are not built for speed - they are built for leisurely rides along the beach (hence the fat tires), or through the neighborhood. The riders want to see and be seen in style.

Lowriders are usually considered to be among the most comfortable of bikes. The apehanger handlebars extend up so high that riders are perforce forced to sit up straight - reducing the stress on the back which is one of the chief causes of biking discomfort. The tires are cushiony, the seat, whether banana or some other kind, are roomy and comfortable. Most of them have only one speed and a simple coaster break, so they don’t break down that often.

With the new space age materials of which bikes are made, these bikes aren’t as heavy as you might think, so if you’re thinking of getting a new bike, and like to indulge in your creativity, you might want to consider getting a low rider. (Even if you don’t want to trick it out, or pimp it as the slang goes, it is still a classic retro design and a fun ride.)

But if you do want to trick it out (a term I prefer to pimp frankly, as I would think that word would have unpleasant connotations) there are plenty of stores, both bricks and mortar and online, where you can purchase practically any accessory you can think of - from gold and chrome mirrors, rims and spokes, to hand-painted murals on the frame, to rows of mirrors on each side, to a baby spare tire mounted on the back!

So check out your local store or surf the web, and have some fun!

Adobe Photoshop v Adobe Illustrator

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

What are the differences between adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator? Produced by the same company, there are some that say the difference between the two programs is small. In actuality, adobe illustrator takes some key elements of adobe photoshop to the next level and beyond.

Abobe Photoshop is a very popular program used by digital photographers around the world. The abundance of photoshop tips and tutorials make this a very easy program to learn and to use. Photoshop can be used to take any existing image and give it a professional, polished looked. Borders can be added and pictures tweaked to look better than any digital camera could make possible. Almost anything you can imagine doing to a picture is capable when using adobe photoshop.

Abobe illustrator is a different program entirely. Illustrator is a vector-based drawing program that allows you to create your own unique graphics. Adobe illustrator graphics can be used in print, online, in video, and even on your cell phone. Want to create your own background for your cell phone? It’s possible when you have adobe illustrator, and something that can’t be done with photoshop alone.

Both programs are vastly talked about on the web. You will find a huge array of photoshop tutorials and illustrator tutorials, illustrator and photoshop tips. Forums, chat rooms, and discussion groups that focus on both programs are also abundant on the web. Once you start looking, you’ll find more and more information on adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator.

While photoshop does have some photoshop drawing and vector art tools, the tools are nothing compared to what is available on adobe illustrator. With a vast array of templates that can help you get started and a number of different drawing tools, you can create your own unique graphics and artwork using adobe illustrator. You can create unique graphics with photoshop, but you must start with a base image and your tools are limited in comparison to adobe illustrator. For the serious graphic designer, adobe illustrator is the best program to use. However, if your drawing needs are small, photoshop will probably work just as well.

Photoshop tutorials do not extensively cover photoshop drawing, and you’ll have to look for some photoshop drawing specific tutorials to find truly useful information. Photoshop tips pages mention little regarding photoshop drawing and vector art tools. However, to make your digital images look perfect adobe photoshop is the perfect tool for you. Once you learn how to use photoshop to make your images perfect, you won’t be able to stop yourself from “fixing” every digital image that you use.

Adobe illustrator is a different program. Where photoshop helps you create a unique look using existing images, illustrator helps you create your own brand-new images. In graphic design, adobe illustrator may be one of the best and easier tools you can use. The software is user friendly and tutorials to help you use illustrator better are all over the Internet. Whatever you need to learn about adobe illustrator, there’s a tutorial for that.

There’s no reason you cannot work with both adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator to create brand new images or polish existing ones. The two programs have some basic, shared components, so by mastering one you will already have a working knowledge of using the other. To make your images as stunning as possible or to create graphics that no one else has seen before, you can use both adobe photoshop and illustrator. There is no reason to pick between the two and use only one program if you have uses for both. Because the two programs and their uses are so different, it’s probably preferable to use both adobe programs for your digital photography and image creations.

In their own unique ways, adobe photoshop and adobe illustrator and great additions to your existing software. Each program has vast uses for the digital photographer and graphic designer, and you’ll find that both are equally useful when it comes to creating the best and most sophisticated images. Tutorials, photoshop tips, and adobe illustrator information that you’ll find online make using these programs quick and easy. The more you use these adobe programs, the more you’ll want to use them. Who knows what you’ll create next?

Understanding the Food Pyramid for Kids

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

In 2005, the US Department of Agriculture released the new food pyramid plan. Kids and adults alike no longer need to follow the same horizontally sectioned food pyramid. Adults now have their own pyramid while there is also a new food pyramid for kids. What does this say now about food, nutrition and diet?

The new food pyramid for kids basically implies that kids have different nutritional and diet needs as adults. Kids need to follow the specifications in the new food pyramid for kid so that they can grow up healthy and strong.

The food pyramid for kid is telling kids and parents that kids should eat a variety of food items from all the food groups. A healthy meal according to the food pyramid for kid should therefore contain lean meat, beans, nuts, fish, milk, dairy products, fruits, grains, vegetables and some fats.

The food pyramid for kid however is not telling kids to eat everything in the same amounts. The same age old advice still holds about eating more grains, fruits and vegetables than other food types. Oils and sugar should be eaten in smaller portions. Parents should also note that some foods in each category should not be eaten in great amounts. Fruit pies and tetra pack juices for example do not necessarily contain the same nutrients as real fruits and should only be taken occasionally.

The best way to encourage kids to follow the food pyramid for kid requirements is to set a good example. Parents and other family members should vow to eat only healthy food. It would also help to keep the whole house free of junk food and other food items that are less in nutritional value.

The new food pyramid for kid is also trying to tell us that kids should be given a lot of time to exercise. Good physical play for example is advisable for kids to stay healthy. Parents can also encourage kids to follow the physical exercise advice of the new food pyramid for kid by being a good example and engaging in physical activities as well. Parents can keep kids active by participating in family camping activities or family sports games.

The whole business of eating and living healthy may be a difficult concept to teach children. The food pyramid for kid also suggests however, that healthy living and eating should be taught slowly but surely.

Five Tips for Buying Toys for Toddlers

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

Most of us have been there before. You open the mailbox to find a brightly colored invitation to the birthday party of your favorite two year old. You hang the invitation on the refrigerator with great intentions to stop at the toy store after work to buy a great birthday gift. Several weeks later, you realize the party starts in 2 hours and you have yet to get the perfect gift. You jump in the car, race to the toy store, and run inside. Suddenly, you are surrounded by a sea of remarkable toys and start to panic! Take a deep breath and slow down for just a minute. These five tips will help you choose the perfect educational toy and get to the party in time.

First, be sure to buy a toy that is for a toddler. Sure, their parents may tell you that their child is so advanced, that they should be in third grade by now. But let’s face it; you should buy a toy that’s fit for a two year old. Otherwise, the child may not be interested in it, and end up just playing with the box. Also, it is important that they toy is in the right age range for the child to make sure it is safe. Little hands and mouths are not safe around toys with little detachable parts. Most toy stores arrange their products by corresponding age ranges, so head straight to the section designed for the child you have in mind.

Next, think about choosing a gift that allows parents to interact with their child to build skills important for later academic success. It is important for toddlers to be exposed to letters, letter sounds, and numbers. Look for brightly colored blocks, oversized flashcards, or puzzles with letters and numbers that may also have a tactile component like a fuzzy duck or shiny moon. Some phonological based toys also talk or sing to children. Parents always enjoy helping their child explore and create with oversized paper and crayons, or clay.

Third, to please both parent and child, shop around for great toddler books. Books made especially for toddlers are typically ones made from thick cardboard. They may have pop-up characters, animals with fur that kids can pet, and flowers with a scratch-and-sniff scent. It is important for parents to read to their children to introduce them to language and ideas, and also to instill a sense that reading and learning are important. Books also provide great bonding moments between parents and children.

Next, remember not to overdo it. Sure, it is tempting to try and pick out the biggest and best gift that will be at the party. It is always flattering when the birthday boy or girl latches on to the gift you presented, and barely lets go long enough to finishing opening the rest! But, the size of the gift and the amount of money you spend is not as important as the impact that your gift may have on that particular child. Choose something that will stimulate their minds and spur their development.

Last but not least, think creatively when shopping for educational toys for toddlers. Maybe you could try a plant that they can learn to love, water, and care for, along with their very first watering can. Or perhaps they would enjoy a wardrobe of dress-up clothes, so they can pretend to be a soldier, astronaut, or athlete.

When you are racing through the toy store on the way to another great birthday party, remember to choose a stimulating and creative toy that is age appropriate for your little friend. Just don’t forget to grab some wrapping paper on the way to the cash register.

Private Yacht Charter Or Cruise Ship - Which To Choose?

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

The summer cruise season is once again upon us. Time for cruise lovers everywhere to choose their yearly cruise vacation. Or, for you cruise first-timers, to decide to finally take the plunge and go on your first cruise.

For first-timers and seasoned pros alike, most people assume that in order to sail the world’s oceans and rivers you have to sign up with one of the major cruise lines. While cruising with one of the majors is the most common way to sail, there are other options available, such as chartering a private yacht.

Before the money alarm bells start going off in your head, it might help to know that in some cases a privately-chartered yacht might make financial sense, particularly if you have a larger group of people who will split the cost of the charter. And, charters vary widely in price. For example, you can charter a yacht cruising Florida and the Bahamas in the winter and New England in the summer from $15,500 per week for 6 people. That comes out to just over $2,500 per person. Of course, there are pricier yachts you can charter for $385,000 per week for 12 guests and a crew of 13. A yacht like that comes equipped with fishing equipment, snorkeling equipment, water skis, 3 waverunners, kneeboards, 2 kayaks, gym and a Jacuzzi. Again, prices vary widely. You may be amazed at what you’d find in your price range. Some private yacht charters also offer cheaper deals if you agree to cook your own food rather than have a chef onboard.

Benefits of Private Yacht Charter over Major Cruise Line

Privacy:

On a major cruise you have lots of company. Over 2,000 passengers on many cruises. With a private yacht charter it can be just you and under a dozen other people, often times just your friends and family. Besides you and the other passengers, the only other individuals onboard would be the yacht crew or staff. This might not only include a captain and other onboard hands, but it may also include a maid or a private chef.

Perfect for Small Gatherings:

Private yachts are ideal for small business parties, casual business meetings, romantic getaways, honeymoons, weddings, and even family vacations. It’s hard to hold a business meeting on a large cruise ship with all the noise and activity going on around you. And, a private yacht charter allows you the opportunity to get closer to your loved ones without other people getting in the way.

Activities:

You may be able to go swimming, scuba diving or snorkeling right off the yacht. Jumping off the ship and into the ocean is not something that’s encouraged on a major cruise ship. Neither is fishing. But, on your own private chartered yacht, that is also an activity you, your family and friends can enjoy.

Health Considerations:

Every year it seems there’s news of some outbreak of something on a major cruise ship. With all the people aboard, it’s much easier for infections to be spread around, no matter how hard the crew tries to keep everything clean and disinfected. With the small number of people on a private chartered yacht, you have less chance of coming in contact with pathogens.

Benefits of a Major Cruise Line over a Private Chartered Yacht

Cost:

While you can find a private yacht charter that won’t break the bank, a vacation with a major cruise line is still probably cheaper, even for an ocean-view balcony room. And, if you book early enough, you’re often offered an upgrade when your cruise date nears.

Activities:

A major cruise ship offers an incredible amount of activities, such as movies, dancing, yoga, exercise classes. Many have onboard casinos and numerous swimming pools. If you’re bored reading or watching the scenery, there’s always an activity scheduled.

Escape:

While taking a vacation on a yacht with 8 other people sounds nice, you may not be able to escape these same people during the day on a private yacht. On a major cruise there are so many activities that people can go off and do their own thing without always bumping into each other.

When deciding between a major cruise ship and private chartered yacht it helps to sort out what you really want on your vacation. Do you want the opportunity to see beautiful scenery at a minimal cost, or are privacy and being catered to an important consideration for you?

Should you decide to look into chartering a private yacht, you might wish to go through a yacht charter agent who has knowledge of the different companies offering chartered yachts. Choose an agent who is a member of one of the yacht broker’s associations, such as the AYCA, the American Yacht Charter Association, or CYBA, the Charter Yacht Brokers Association.

Weighty Issues

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

Let’s face it - we could all stand to lose a few pounds - and cats are no exception. But for cats, weight loss should be controlled, gradual and supervised by your veterinarian. Because when it comes to weight loss in cats - a sudden drop could signal some underlying health problems.

If your otherwise healthy cat drops a little weight in the heat of summer, it could be simply because the warm weather has curbed his appetite. Burning more energy to maintain body heat in colder weather may also cause healthy cats to shed a pound or two. Stress caused by things such as moving to a new house - or being placed in a kennel while you’re on vacation, as well as lactation (for new mothers) can also cause cats to lose weight.

Of course, diet plays a key role in keeping your cat healthy, so pay careful attention to what’s in your cat’s food dish. Poor-quality, inedible or spoiled food could result in unwanted/unnecessary weight loss and leave your cat undernourished.

Not all weight loss is a result of dietary or environmental changes - which is why it’s important to work with your vet to develop a healthy weight loss program for your cat.

If a sudden weight loss occurs and your cat hasn’t received a clean bill of health from his doctor, take him in for an exam. The weight loss, according to Petco.com http://Petco.com , could stem from underlying conditions such as:

? Dental disease
? Gastrointestinal disorders (including parasites)
? Diabetes mellitus
? Liver or kidney disease
? Congestive heart failure
? Cancer
? Hyperthyroidism
? Fever or chronic infections

The best defense against unwanted weight loss is a clean bill of health, nutritious food and plenty of fresh water. So take your cat to the vet at least once a year for a thorough exam and parasite prevention, find high-quality food that he likes (and feed him the proper amount), and give him an unending supply of clean, fresh water. If something pops up in the interim, take your cat to the vet and get the problem taken care of quickly.

Magnetic Water - Is It For Real?

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

In this article I will try to explain how magnetic water works. First, I’ll talk about whether water can be magnetised or not, then a quick review of the possible health benefits you can gain from drinking magnetic water and finally the easiest and most effective method to magnetize water.

Can water be magnetised?

Many of us understand our basic need to drink clean, healthy water. But what actually is healthy water, and why do we need it?

We are over 70% water. All our biological functions including circulation, digestion, absorption, and excretion depend on water. Water is required for blood, the lymphatic system, and healthy skin and muscles. Doctors, scientists, researchers and natural healers all agree that drinking enough water on a daily basis can help maintain good health and likely help fight disease. Most experts advise drinking at least a litre of water a day to assist in maintaining healthy skin and properly functioning kidneys, bowels, and circulation.

Water is Paramagnetic meaning that it holds a magnetic charge.

Paramagnetism occurs primarily in substances in which some or all of the individual atoms, ions, or molecules possess a permanent magnetic dipole moment. Water has a dipole moment and is, therefore, subject to paramagnetism. (At the University of Tokyo researchers were able to make water levitate using magnets (Source: NATURE . Ikezoe, N. Hirota, J. Nakagawa and K. Kitazawa, Making water levitate, Nature 393 (1998) 749-750).

Again, water molecules are dipolar. Since opposite electrical charges attract, water molecules tend to attract each other (Kegley and Andrews, 1998). Water in living systems naturally gathers into structures of 14, 17, 21, 196, 280, or more molecules (Mikesell, 1985; Davis, 2004). The bottom line is that structured or ionised or magnetised water can be formed using magnets (Mikesell, 1985).

There is a long history of the promotion of magnets to improve the quality and health benefits of water. Researchers found that when a permanent medical magnet is kept in contact with water, the water gets magnetically charged and acquires magnetic properties. Such magnetically treated water affects the human body when taken internally and regularly for a considerable period of time (Lam, 2001). Also, when water is magnetically treated, more hydroxyl (OH-) ions are created to form alkaline molecules, and reduce acidity. Normal water has a pH level of about 7, whereas magnetized water tends to be more alkaline.

Research has shown that it is possible to regenerate water to its original healthy state by magnetizing it. It is now clear that water has a very definite structure. A water molecule consists of two hydrogen atoms and an oxygen atom. Because of the electron configuration of the molecule the hydrogen atoms tend to attract other water molecules resulting in the formation of clusters which can contain anywhere from four to hundreds of water molecules each.

Some very exciting research done in Hungary has shown that these clusters actually have a memory and can remember and carry an imprint of the magnetic energy they have been exposed to either simply from the earth’s magnetic field or through flowing over paramagnetic rock. It is the fact that this memory is destroyed on the way to the tap which renders our drinking water lifeless. (Zhalko-Tytarenko, Olga, et al. Endogenous electromagnetic field influence on the free energy of hydrogen bond formation in water. 2nd Advanced Water Sciences Symposium, Dallas, Texas, October 4-6, 1996. Proceedings, pp. 23-27 ).

The health benefits of drinking magnetic water.

Magnetized water is claimed to be energy-building, activating, cleansing and detoxifying. There are reports of people resolving bladder problems, recovering quickly from a stroke, alleviating arthritis pain and reducing blood pressure by drinking magnetized water. It is perhaps reasonable to assume that if scientific studies on animals have proven that magnetized water has health benefits, then it should also be beneficial to humans. However, so far there have been no systematic, clinical trials done to prove or disprove the healing effects of magnetized water in humans. (Gursche, Siegfried and Rona, Zoltan. Encyclopedia of Natural Healing. Alive Publishing, Inc., Burnaby, Canada, 1997, pp. 400- 07 )

Here’s a list of all the claims of the potential benefits of drinking magnetic water:

- Magnetized water tastes sweeter and has more clarity.
- Magnetic water promotes a more alkaline pH in the body
- Magnetic water promotes healing of wounds and burns
- Magnetic water has a therapeutic effect on digestive, nervous and urinary systems
- Magnetic water may also be beneficial for fevers, sore throat, menstrual and menopause discomfort.
- Magnetic water revitalizes the body
- Magnetic water provides positive effect on the autonomic nervous system
- Magnetized water has been reported to help regulate the heart function and clear clogged arteries
- Magnetic water has been beneficial for kidney ailments, gout, obesity and premature aging
- Magnetic water may help relieve pain
- Magnetic water infuses energy into the body, controls bacteria, and stimulates brain function.

Whether these claims are true or false remains to be tested by science. It will be decades before the science of magnetized water is fully understood. Those in mainstream medicine may discount magnetized water as quackery . That in the forefront of magnetic research paints a different story. If one understands and accepts that each of our cells possesses a small magnetic field, as many research studies are now supporting, the logical conclusion that magnetic water has the ability to affect our cells must be taken seriously.

The most efficient way to magnetise drinking water.

I promote using a bipolar magnetic water wand to magnetise water. It is a quick, efficient, simple and cost effective method. Here’s some more data about the water wand.

The magnetic water wand is 14cm (5? inch) long and looks like a pen with a ceramic ball at the end. The long lasting, lime scale resistant rhodium coating protects the 2 bipolar, magnets inside, totalling 2300 gauss (230 m Tesla). Because you are actually placing the magnets directly into the water the magnetic field penetrates the water extremely quickly. To magnetise a glass of water (200 - 250 ml), leave the magnetic wand for 10 to 15 minutes. and to magnetise a litre, I recommend leaving the magnetic water wand for an hour.

Remember, you don’t have to drink ONLY water. You can magnetise any cold fluid with the water wand! For more information on the magnetic water wand visit www.worldofmagnets.co.uk/shop/proddetail.php?prod=wwand http://www.worldofmagnets.co.uk/shop/proddetail.php?prod=wwand

Short Term Bridging Loans - Own Property Instantly At Low Cost Finance

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

You have set eyes on a property either commercial or personal and you need to buy it immediately before any property grabber takes note of it. But there is a problem. You would be selling your old property to get required finance for buying the new one. The old property however will take time to sell. There is a solution in short term bridging loans.

Short term bridging loans are provided for the time the borrower is able to sell old property to pay off the loan. As the term applies the loan is taken usually for a short period till old property is sold. Short term bridging loans are secured loans. The very property the borrower will be selling is taken by the lender as collateral to secure the loan. How much one can borrow? Well this depends on the value of the property to be sold and offered as collateral. Lenders are willing to offer 65 percent of the value of the property to be sold.

Since short term bridging loans are taken for a shorter repayment period of few weeks to 6 months. Lenders charge higher interest rate. This however can be countered by comparing different loan packages and comparatively lower interest rate can be availed. The relief for the borrower is that no monthly installments are involved in the loan and only interest is paid during the loan repayment duration. The principal amount is paid back when the borrower is able to sell the old property. No upfront fee is involved in the loan offer which is another advantage for the borrower.

The biggest advantage of short term bridging loans is that it is in the hands of the needy borrower within 24 hours. Fast approval is the key and attractive feature of the loan. But you should keep all documents ready for taking the loan in time.

In order to take maximum advantage from the loan goes for an extensive searching for the short term bridging loans providers. Numbers of the loan providers have displayed their short term bridging loans products on their websites. Make a careful comparison in terms of interest rates and other conditions. See what suits you the best. Settle for the lender having suitable package for you and apply then and there online to him. The lender will not take anything for processing loan application and on giving information about the loan.

Surely short term bridging loans provide the much needed finance at the right time when you are looking for buying new property commercial or personal. Compare different loan package on offer prior to sealing the deal.

Eva Baldwyn aims to inform common men and women of the several issues involved in personal loans and mortgages through her articles. An MSc in Economics & Finance from the Warwick Business School is proof enough of the knowledge that she possesses in the field of finance. How To Hide A Pregnancy

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

For most couples, the joy of parenthood is the absolute delight. The birth of a new life, as it goes in the realms of hearsay, settles the foundation for ever-growing love in the lives of the parturient duo. But from the moment the pregnancy test or PT, as it is referred to in the common linguistics, comes out positive, the mother is more worried about the tummy pushing out of limits than anything else around her.

People expect a pregnant woman to be full of joy and be blooming at times, always looking forward to when that little angel would come to life, but it isn’t that easy to hide nasty feelings creeping into your mind. Of all the thoughts that flood into an expectant’s mind, one that lingers a while is ‘how to stay fit’ or ‘how not to look pregnant’.

For first-timers though, the joy is too overwhelming and ’showing’ occurs later. But, for ones that have gone through the process of birthing a child before, worries lie not so far off. Hormonal changes in the body tend to make the person a bit low and lazy oozed with tiredness and nausea. With such emotions treading into the bearer’s head, they would prefer a cozy place to rest themselves upon all day long rather that to do exercise.

Here are three tips that are recommended for mothers-to-be to help hide their pregnancy:

1. Exercise: Do remember that the exercise is the key to staying fit and healthy. A brisk walk would always do more good in your baby’s and your favor.

2. Eat healthy: Eating nutritious and healthy food not only ensures the birth of a healthy baby but also help your baby fight out the various post-natal diseases. A good metabolic rate is a better indicator that the mother and child are healthy.

3. Catnaps are not bad but slumping on the sofa is: Pregnant women get tired more often because of the enormous amount of hormonal processes occurring inside their body. Catnaps are good to doze off the lazy afternoons but slumping onto the sofa in front of a tube might do you no good and would cultivate more fat to your belly.

Suzan, 31, is a mother of an eleven month old boy, living in West London and is expecting another baby. The constant upsetting moments of handling a tot alongside her normal daily routine is becoming a nightmare for the lady, who herself happens to be a general practioner. She knows she should not burden herself with the toddler’s tantrums. Most of my day is spent either cleaning up the mess my child makes or arguing with my husband that he should be more responsible of the child, she says.

These constant upsets make a woman low and tends to bring her energy levels down to zero. She’d feel tired and exhausted, bringing her to a state where her fitness is always at stake. Pregnancy puts a woman at the receiving end of a lot of advice and mostly criticism as well from the others around. But in the end it is always important that you do what you presume is right for you. After all you are the one holding the baby.

Pregnancy is nonetheless a moment to cherish with your partner, a moment to live, a moment to rejoice, because at the end of it all lies the most wonderful gift you could have in store for him. Don’t think of pregnancy as a burden rather think of it as a beautiful gift lapped into your womb.

Stress Relief Tips for the Holidays and Everyday From the Happy Wednesday Lady, Joanie Winberg

August 28th, 2008 by EphraimsBlog58

The American Institute of Stress reports that stress among Americans is significantly rising with approximately $300 billion a year lost due to stress-related illnesses. It has reduced productivity, increased absenteeism, insurance costs, health-related programs, and employee dissatisfaction. With stress being a way of life in this fast paced society, it’s important to find a way to keep it in check. Joanie Winberg has been doing this for years as a Speaker, Relationship Coach and a Behavior Specialist who now provides a new motivational tool to help.

Winberg’s 40 Days to a Happier Life CD and Journal Set is a serious tool that teaches how to eliminate stress, and jumpstart and take charge of your life. The lessons obtain a higher level of contentment and teach how to create a lifestyle of more ease, happiness and fun. The Happy Wednesday Lady’s approach to eliminating harmful stress is both powerful and light-hearted. In addition to two CDs containing her Top 40 inspirational quotes and tips to feel motivated and inspired every day, the set includes the Happy Wednesday Instructional Journal, a unique innovation. The high quality leather bound journal comes with easy-to-follow instructions on how to combine the CDs and the journal together to enjoy a higher level of contentment on a daily basis.

With the holidays rapidly approaching, and stress levels at an all-time high during that period, Winberg provides three healthy tips to avoid unwanted holiday stress:

1. Plan Ahead: Create a workable schedule to get everything important done. Ask yourself: Does this really need to be done today? Would anyone be affected if I didn’t do it? If the answer is “yes” to either question, then it is a priority. Take care of the priority items before taking on the less important things. During the holidays, time demands seem to multiply. Take a moment or two for yourself to plan how to best use your time. Treat yourself to a vacation or personal day midweek and avoid weekend crowds at the malls. Buy holiday stamps in November and avoid long lines at the post office. Cook a large meal on a weekend and reheat leftovers for quick dinners on nights when you’re shopping.

2. Relax and Have Fun Laughing: You deserve to relax and have fun every day - and the holiday season is no exception. Spend a little of each day doing what makes you laugh out loud. Bask in the knowledge that you have set up a plan to accomplish all you had to do for the holidays, and it is already done. You aren’t pressured. You can choose what to do with your time, such as watching comedies, going to funny shows or simply listen to other people chuckle. Laughter is contagious and can help you reduce blood pressure, release both natural pain relievers and an enzyme that will protects your stomach from forming ulcers, relax muscle tension, release and boost your immune system.

3. Learn to say ‘no’: It really is OK to say “no” to things you don’t have time to do or don’t have an interest in. If you are saying “yes” because you’re worried about what someone might think, then you’ll feel resentful and out of control. Be true to yourself. Answer “maybe” when you really want to take the time to think about a request. After you have thought about it, then make your decision. Don’t say “maybe” to avoid saying “no.” Say “yes” to those requests that you are excited about and “no” to those that you could do without.

During this time, it’s important to journal so that you can stay connected to your feelings. Also, with the uniqueness of Winberg’s accompanying CDs, you can motivate yourself daily by listening to the day’s motivational tip and journaling on same. Complete instructions are provided for those not familiar with journaling.

“This is absolutely the best thing you can do for yourself and your business,” Diana Ennen, author of Virtual Assistant- The Series remarks. “I have found that when I devote those ten minutes in the morning to listening to the day’s motivational tip and then journaling, my whole day is more productive, especially that first hour after I listen. I am empowered to do better.”

The set is available for $19.95 from Amazon.com and can be purchased at www.HappyWednesday.com http://www.HappyWednesday.com . The 40 Days to a Happier Life CD and Journal Set is just one facet of Winberg’s mission to empower people to live their lives with more ease, happiness and a lot more fun.
